Dental Implant Surgery in King of Prussia, PA
What Is Dental Implant Surgery?
Dental implants have almost single-handedly changed the face of cosmetic dentistry with their ability to naturally and beautifully replace missing teeth. The dentists at ByDesign Dental Specialists can perform dental implant surgery to replace one or multiple missing teeth with lifelike dental implants. An implant is made up of a titanium post that acts as an artificial tooth root. A custom dental crown, bridge, or full arch takes the place of the erupted part of the lost tooth (or numerous teeth). If you suffer from tooth loss from a traumatic injury or require tooth removal, our King of Prussia, PA team specializes in the dental implant surgical process. Schedule an appointment today.
How Does Dental Implant Surgery Work?
The surgical approach for fixed implants entails the careful positioning of the post and the securing of a natural-looking dental restoration (such as partial pieces, crowns, or bridges). Before dental implant surgery, a thorough examination will be conducted. The dentist will examine the teeth and jawbone to assess whether the gums are healthy enough and if the patient has enough bone to properly support an implant. X-rays will be taken to help the dentist develop impressions of the mouth to ensure replacement teeth fit accurately and naturally.
When the area is prepared for treatment, it will be numbed with anesthesia. Oral-conscious or IV services might also be utilized to allow you to feel more comfortable during your operation. The titanium post will be surgically set within your jawbone at the appropriate spot and granted time to fuse with the tissue through a phenomenon called osseointegration. The jawbone healing process can take 3 – 6 months as it lays a strong foundation for the replacement tooth to be placed. At this time, a small abutment, or connector post, is attached to the implant so that a new tooth, called a crown, can be placed. Other replacement options, such as bridges or dentures, can be used as well. The replacement will match the color, shape, and size of the patient’s natural teeth to give them a consistent look.
What Are the Benefits of Dental Implant Surgery?
Dental implants are often selected because of the significant number of wellness perks they supply. As tooth substitutes, fixed implant surgery produces long-lasting results and enhanced oral health, as well as:
- Might enhance your self-assurance while talking and when you show your teeth
- Offer increased chewing force and stability of dental restorations
- Fuse with the jawbone to sustain jaw wellness and structure
- Will not make use of neighboring teeth to stay in place
- Mimic real teeth in performance and visual appeal
- Function as a long-lasting tooth restoration treatment
- Enable the adaptation of a healthy diet
Dental Implant Surgery Reviews
Trust the process! I was referred by a friend to go here. I can say, I didn't make a mistake. Dr. Moore and Dr. Mogyoros are fantastic. They both truly care about their patients health and well-being. The entire staff recognizes that we are all people and they want their patients to feel great about their smile. I was comfortable here and would highly recommend! Thank you all for making me feel great again! I love to smile again.
The return of my smile and more: The bottom line is that I am thrilled with the end result of my All on 4 plus procedure. Doctors Mogyoros and Moore took their time, were knowledgeable, compassionate, and made me feel as if I was their sole patient. They really cared about helping me. The rest of the team in the office were some of the best I’ve encountered in a dental practice. When I first came to their office, I was miserable. A prior All on 4 had completely failed, I had a cosmetic temporary upper denture, and was depressed. Dr. Mogyoros came up with a plan to address the repair of the implant failure, and shortly thereafter I had oral surgery in the office. Due to the prior issues, I would get Zygomatic implants as well as regular ones to make the All on 4. Dr. Mogyoros wound up surgically installing 2 regular, 2 pterygoid, as well as 4 Zygomatics. No All on 4, I got an All on 8. it was a long day, I came home that evening with a ‘new mouth’ . Recovery was very fast and Dr. Moore then took over with the crafting of the final set. He took care to make sure that everything fit, was balanced, and looked great. Nothing was left to chance. I now can eat what I like, my face doesn’t have the sunken look that happens with dentures, I speak without issues, have a great attitude each day, and of course smile all the time.
