I’m Tom from Bucks County, Pennsylvania. I came to By Design because I saw an ad that intrigued me especially after I had been to about three or four dentists before, and I was completely dissatisfied. My situation when I got here with my teeth was pretty bad because I had a temporary put in and it was falling apart and I didn’t want to go back to where I had gotten it because I had been bounced around a few times already.

Actually I’ve been through hell with my dental work in the past few years and coming here was like going to heaven. Everything was wonderful here. Everybody was friendly and not only that, they did a good job. They immediately took charge and told me exactly what they could do and when it would be done. Everything turned out the way they said it would. I used to hate going to the dentist, but I actually enjoy coming here.

Everybody is very friendly and everybody paid attention. They treated you like you were important. Everybody was involved. I don’t know what else you could ask for for any kind of medical treatment. I don’t know what else they could have done to make it any better – except not charge me maybe! I said this before and I tell all my friends that what’s really amazing here is the attention you get and they explain what they’re going to do and how it’s going to end up and they do it! In this day and age, I don’t find too many people doing and providing what they say they’re going to. Here, they did that and more. Frankly, I’ve been complimented quite a few times on my teeth. I feel guilty if I don’t tell them they’re implants. I looked good before, but I look great now!

I’m Mark. I’m from Collindale, Pennsylvania. I came to By Design to get both upper and lower work done because my teeth were an awful mess. They were mostly broken off. At the point that I came in it was very hard for me to eat most foods. I couldn’t eat things like a sandwich, a steak. Cookies I used to break up into little pieces and to put in my mouth. I left it a long time. I didn’t want to go to the dentist. I saw commercials from various places and I looked into a couple of them. It’s like “Yeah, yeah. Maybe I’ll go get this done eventually.” It got worse and worse that I couldn’t eat what I wanted. People did notice. A couple of people made comments about it. “Are you going to get that work done?” “Don’t you have insurance for dental?” and that kind of thing. I researched a couple of the places that I saw and of all the ones that I looked at and all the ads I saw, By Design seemed to be the best out of them for qualifications and facilities, location, all that kind of thing. The more I thought about it, it’s like “I’m still nervous, but I really should get it done.” Once I did, I didn’t really realize how much I was putting off foods that I liked; I wouldn’t open my lips to smile. I couldn’t say such letters as “F” and “V” because they’d just be like little air puffs through my lips and “F” is kind of a bad sound when you live in Philadelphia.

When I got it all done, it had really changed my whole life and just made me feel like, “Jeez I’m a person again.” I don’t have to look at a menu and go “Yeah, that sounds delicious, but I can’t.” I look back at how much I resisted coming and wonder “Why did I put it off for that long? Why didn’t I come and get this done when it first started to get to be a problem instead of when it got to be a life changer?” It definitely was. It was getting to the point that I could not eat things. I could not smile. I was having trouble talking and immediately after they did the procedures, I said “How long do I have to wait for this?” It was a couple of days. I’m like “What? I can get back to all of this almost immediately?” It really was. A bit of healing, a bit of care. I couldn’t go right back to the heaviest things and I had to learn to re-talk a little because my tongue got used to not having teeth in the way, but it was back to being a normal routine that I didn’t have to think about before I did anything with my mouth. They restored my self-image and respect, which I didn’t think I really cared about until they did because I didn’t know how much I had to put away for not being physically able to do it and how much I did care about how it looked. I always just told myself “I don’t care. Who cares?”, but when I hear people sit there…people would just walk up and go “That really looks good.” I’m like “Thank you.” It’s a nice compliment. Wow, this many people noticed that it was that bad so now they’re noticing that it’s that good. This was nice. Now I want to show them how good my teeth are.

Don’t put it off. The situation only gets worse. I was routinely breaking off teeth eating lunch at work and that just put me in a bad mood and situation and insecurity as it went and I expected the procedures to be spread out over quite a few weeks with the healing that takes several months. They did the procedures all very quickly. The healing was a fraction of what I had imagined. I really felt silly that I had put it off for so long, that it was a lot less involved than I had imagined it to be before I came. It made me think through the time beforehand. Why did I put up with the pain and the embarrassment and everything that went along with losing my teeth for so long when they did the procedures and I don’t have to worry about what happens when I bite into something. I don’t have to worry who’s going to make a funny face when I smile. I don’t even think about they’re there unless I’m actually brushing my teeth. They’re just my teeth now, not my implants. They’re my teeth. It makes me feel very good. I felt I made one of the best decisions I ever did to come in and have the work done.

Murray

Murray

Read Murray’s Story

Hi, my name is Murray and I live in Malvern, Pennsylvania, just a few miles from where we are sitting right now. I was born at a time where the only time you went to a dentist is if something was hurting and for most of my early childhood, that’s about the times I went to the dentist, when something was hurting. My father had lost his teeth very early, my mother lost her teeth, my brother was struggling with his as well and so I thought it was just natural. Everyone I knew had problems with their teeth like that. As I got older and started going to the dentist more often, the dentist began sometimes talking to me and saying “Murray we’ve got a problem. You’ve got some teeth that are missing by now. We need to fill some of those gaps in.” I began a process really of having my teeth fixed with crowns and bridges and those kinds of things put in. Most of them were removable and a royal pain.

I started still going to my dentist and had some root canals done, had some teeth put in with posts. They were always giving me problems. They were always an issue. I never will forget about three years ago sitting on the porch and had company. I bit down into an ear of corn, I love corn on the cob. When my teeth actually bit, it bent up. It was a horrible, horrible experience. I very quickly went to my dentist the very next day, I was lucky to be able to go there, and he rectified the situation, but said “Murray, we’ve got a problem. This is not ever going to be able to be fixed.” I eventually had the root part removed and the gumline was messed up. It really never looked right. I was always very self-conscious about it. It really bothered me a great deal. By that time, I really didn’t really have a real tooth in my mouth. All of my teeth were either crowned or they were all crowned, and permanent bridges put in. My smile looked alright. I was a teacher and I was in the public eye every day and no one really could tell because the dentist had done a pretty good job of masking everything, but I was extremely uncomfortable and very often had aches and pains as a result of it and if you’ve ever had a toothache, you know what I’m talking about.

Well, about a year and a half ago, I went to my dentist and I sat down with him and I said “Doctor, this is really what I think we need to do. You need to give me a plan of what I can do to salvage my mouth.” I thought I was still relatively young. I certainly did not want to wear dentures, but knew that was the direction in which I was going. He laid out a plan and it involved implants, but over a very long period of time, months even years and expensive because he would do one procedure and the orthodontist would do another procedure. Eventually, it was a fairly expensive, extraordinarily tedious process. I started to do some more investigation. I contacted people in Costa Rica, Mexico, Israel. A lot of people were doing this procedure, but think about it. Nevada, in this country and abroad as well. I talked to them and some of them assured me this was the best thing since sliced bread. “Come on down” and they’d fix me up. I was a little apprehensive about that because I thought “What if I have a problem?” Could I really just get on an airplane and fly to Costa Rica, Mexico or Israel that quickly, that easily? I didn’t think so.

Then, surfing the web and lo and behold I found By Design Dental here in King of Prussia and I thought “wow, it’s just right down the road”. I’m lucky that I live fairly close. I called and talked and they said “Come on in and we’ll have a consultation.” I did and let me tell you something. One of the best days of my life was when I came in here and started talking to Rand, Dr. Mogyoros. They were all extraordinary. They sat down with me, they went over the procedure, tried to alleviate any fears I might have. We began talking the nuts and bolts of it, what to expect, and I thought it was a good idea. I followed through and it was a little over a year ago now. I can remember the day. Did I have some apprehensions? Was I fearful even that morning? Yeah, I was downright scared actually. I came in and I had already met with them and already done all the other x-rays and things and pretty much had a good idea of what was going to happen. They had prepared me extremely well for that and I sat down, the procedure began, and the next thing I knew, I was being offered a smoothie and I had new teeth.

Let me tell you something. Just a few weeks ago I had one of the most gratifying experiences I’ve had in a long time. I ate a full ear of corn on the cob and it was delicious and I didn’t have to worry about a tooth bending or other teeth falling out at all. I was gratified. The people here have done such an extraordinary job of repairing me and getting me ready for what to expect. My temporaries that they put in initially; I looked in the mirror and they actually looked – luckily I had as I mentioned enough work that my teeth looked fine from the outside – and so when I looked in the mirror and saw what was there, I thought “my gosh, they look like my teeth, my old teeth, but so much better.” In fact, you know what happened? I was a little apprehensive about what they were going to look like and Rand, the person here who designs the teeth actually took a picture with his phone of my teeth before they were inserted in my mouth, sent it to me. “Murray, look at this closely” he said. “Do you like the way it looks? How about the teeth? The size? The gums? All of that. Does it look like what you want?” and all I had to do is say “You know what, they’re perfect. They look beautiful.” A few months later I got the final teeth. I’ve just been extremely overjoyed with my teeth. I can smile. I can talk. I can eat. I do historic tour guiding in the City of Philadelphia and I don’t have to worry about a tooth bending or something on tour like that happening. I feel confident and I owe it all, I really do, to By Design Dental.

The doctors here, the staff, are some of the finest professionals, both as far as the industry goes, as far as the housekeeping and the people who wait on you, the receptionist who greets you, they are highly, highly professional. I cannot enough recommend By Design Dental. They are some of the finest professionals you’ll ever meet. The decision that you make to come here and have this procedure done or whatever procedure you have done, rest assured this is the finest place you could be.

Hi, my name is Joann. I’m a lifelong Philadelphian. I came to By Design Dental because I had advanced gum disease and my only option I was told was dentures. I thought I was too young for dentures and I didn’t like the restrictions so the only option I had left other than dentures was to get the All-on-4® procedure for the upper and lower jaw and it was the best decision I ever made. They’re natural, they feel good. I can’t tell the difference between these teeth and my natural teeth. I’ve had them about a year now and I will never regret the decision. Getting the All-on-4® made the difference in that I work in sales and self-promotion and it gave me confidence. I was worried that I would go to lunch with a client or dinner with a client and if I had dentures, the dentures would move or the dentures would fall out. I no longer have that fear and I have a lot more confidence in my smile, which makes a difference in my business.

The staff is extremely accommodating. I have a very hectic schedule; I am very work oriented. They worked around my schedule. They accommodated sudden changes, quick changes. I had a few times when I had to cancel appointments, reschedule them. They worked with me. They understood the business demands that I had and they were extremely accommodating and nice about it.

When I got the All-on-4® I thought “Oh no. I’m going to have to have constant cleanings. I’m going to have to make my routine change. I’ll have to spend an hour a day cleaning and flossing.” As it turns out it’s really low maintenance, it’s just, you have to be persistent. You have to care for them as you would your regular teeth, so the difference it makes is that they feel natural. They don’t feel as though there is something foreign in my mouth. I can go for days with forgetting that I even have them in there so that makes a big difference, unlike dentures where I would have to clean them nightly and take them out. It makes a difference as far as not having my daily routine interrupted.

If someone is considering having this done, they have to realize that although it might be a little more expensive initially than having dentures put in, in the long term it’s probably one of the best investments I ever made because the quality of life that I have now is very different than before when I had gum disease and was worried that I’d have a temporary solution to a permanent problem.

Hi, my name is Bonnie. I’m 43 and live in Unadilla in Upstate New York. About two years ago, I was biting into a sandwich and a tooth got loose I felt a severe pain so I went to my dentist in New York and after analyzing and x-raying me she came back into the office and told me “I have good news and bad news. The good news is your teeth are great and they’re in good condition with no cavities. The bad news is they all have to come out.” Of course I was devastated and upset. Apparently all the dental bone was gone around my teeth so I had to figure out what to do from there. She told me she would go with implants since I was young. I think I was 41 when I found out. She sent me to different dentists and an oral surgeon and I talked about all the options with them, but it just didn’t seem – I wasn’t convinced – it just didn’t seem right, so I thought about maybe just having dentures, but being so young I just got thinking “No I don’t know if I want to have dentures the rest of my life” so I did some more research and I still didn’t find a place I was comfortable with. One day my dad sent me an article he had read about By Design Dental. They had just opened this office and I read it and saw that all the doctors were in one building and they offered the implants all in the same day, you get the teeth in the same day. There was a free CT Scan and free consultation. I got in the car and drove down and it was wonderful. I felt so comfortable when I walked in here, everyone was so friendly. The CT Scan was easy. They showed me everything. I think I was here for three hours consulting. Since I live so far away they spent a lot of time with me. After talking to them, I knew right down in my gut that this was the place for me. I had that peace come over me where I was a nervous wreck and very before that.

The day of the surgery was wonderful; they were all so caring and sweet and spent time with me. I wasn’t nervous. Everything went great. They really take good care of you. The doctors are perfectionists yet down to earth, very, very knowledgeable and make you feel like family. My experience was wonderful. I think I was working a few days later and love my smile. Eating is easy, I can chew anything. They feel very natural, the teeth. People that haven’t seen me and didn’t know about the surgery had no idea. They matched my smile that perfectly from before. I’ve always had a nice smile growing up because I had gone to the Orthodontist for years when I was a child so I had a perfect smile, a beautiful smile. I was very blessed. This was all very much of a shock that I had to lose my smile so they replicated it perfectly and nobody knows.

I feel great today with my new teeth. I work with people. I talk and laugh a lot. I feel very confident. I’m not worried. If I had dentures, I would be worried that they would fall out of my mouth or move around, so I’m very confident. I am very happy. Nobody knows I have implants. The teeth are beautiful and very easy to keep clean. I love them. It’s very natural and I can eat anything I want. Finding By Design was a miracle for me. I feel very blessed.

Dr. Mogyoros is wonderful. You can tell he really knows what he’s talking about, but not only that, being a wonderful surgeon he spent the time to come in out of his lunch time to come see me while I was here from New York and he looked at my CT Scan right away just to put me at ease and let me know if he could put the implants in the remaining bone that I had. He was honest and said I didn’t have much, but he thought he could do it and he showed me the different angles of the screws that he would have to line up just to catch the bone. He did an excellent job. I didn’t have any pain. The recovery was fast. I was very impressed with Dr. Mogyoros.

Working with Rand was fun and interesting. He was very receptive to how you wanted your teeth. He seemed to know exactly what you want from what you describe and he never got offended if you didn’t like how something looked. He would go back in the studio and redo it. He was very good. He listened.

I love this place. The people here at By Design are just wonderful. They are all down to earth. They treat you like family. I felt like royalty. They spent the time with you. I absolutely could not find anything negative about my experience here. I’m very happy. I was concerned with pricing due to going to another oral surgeon first. There was a two-page price list adding everything up and it was getting up there and it was thousands of dollars, where they gave me a flat price. It was affordable and they went the extra mile and got me a Care Credit for two years with no interest so it’s very affordable. If money is an option, do not be afraid.

I love these guys so much that I took off a day of work today and drove down three hours just to do this testimonial. I adore them so much that every time I come I bake them homemade cookies.

Lynne

Lynne

Read Lynne’s Story

Hi, my name is Lynne and I live in Bethel, Pennsylvania and I’ve had dental issues all of my life and finally ran into a point where I needed to have a permanent solution. I had several permanent bridges in my mouth and the teeth anchoring them were failing so I needed to have something done.

I did a lot of research on the internet to see what my options were for a permanent solution because I was not interested in dentures. I knew I would not be able to tolerate them and in the sights that I researched, I came across By Design Dental and I was impressed with the training and the experience of the team here so I decided to come for my initial consult. Once I came here I knew I chose the right place. Everybody was professional; they were very friendly. I have a health care background so I asked a lot of questions and everyone answered them fully. I did have an All-on-4® in the upper and had several implants put in the bottom jaw. The care here is tremendous. Everybody is friendly and they’re professional and one thing I appreciate: they are a team. They function very well as a team, but the patient is included as part of that team.

Since I’ve had my procedure done I don’t even notice that my All-on-4® is in. It just seems like regular teeth to me, and the thing that most surprised me was the recovery. They go over the instructions with you. They’re very simple to follow and if you do them, you will recover very quickly. I really didn’t have what I would call pain. On a scale of 1-10, my level was 1 or 2 so I breezed right through it. I can’t say enough for the people out here, the physicians and the staff. I would recommend anybody come here to get their permanent solution to dentures. I just could not deal with dentures.

I feel like I have regular teeth. I’m able to eat what I want. I smile, I laugh, I talk. I’m not aware of the teeth. I’m not self-conscious. I’m happy. I’m healthy. I’m confident. The main thing is I’m not worried about my dental work anymore because it’s all behind me. If you’ve had as many dental procedures over the course of your life as I have had, knowing that you have a permanent solution is all the peace you need because I’ve struggled with dental work since I was a child.

When my friends ask questions, they are all very interested because they knew I was having it done. They had never heard of it so I told them. I explained the procedure to them and I explained the temporary prosthesis that you get and then when I had my permanent one they were all waiting to see and they said, “we didn’t even notice you had your permanent one in.” People are curious. I think if more people than myself were looking for permanent solutions I would tell them to pick By Design Dental.

If you’re worried about pain, there really isn’t any and I was surprised. I really expected to have some pain after the procedure, but like I said, on a scale of 1-10 it was a 1 or a 2 and if you’re on the fence, come in here and talk to them. Get your questions answered and feel to give me a call. I am very satisfied and so happy I had this done.

Elizabeth

Elizabeth

Read Elizabeth’s Story

My name is Elizabeth and I live in Philadelphia and at this point I am at By Design Dental. I had a severe dental situation. As a child I lost five or six molars. The molars were not replaced and as a result I had empty space on my right side and as a result the top teeth fell into the empty space, which means in time the top teeth were eventually touching my bottom gum. The right side of my mouth was useless let’s say for fifty years. I could not eat there. I had to eat on the left side. I knew as time went on that something would have to be done about it, but I guess I just waited until it was critical. My dentist kept saying “Elizabeth, you’re going to have to do something about this.”. Since my work would have been so extensive, he recommended me to Dr. Mogyoros and his staff. Since Dr. Mogyoros had done thousands of these he felt more confident that Dr. Mogyoros would do a fine job and I must say he did.

I visited Dr. Mogyoros’ office and the staff was very courteous, competent, and knowledgeable. All of my questions were answered. I was still scared and as a result, I really delayed the process for a year. My situation did not get better and so a year later it was worse. I made up my mind to go back to Dr. Mogyoros’ office. I did so and made arrangements to have the procedure done. I must say when I visited Dr. Mogyoros’ office I was shocked. It didn’t look, smell, or feel like a dentist’s office. Sometimes you go to the dentist and you feel intimidated right away. You hear the drills, you smell the medications that are being administered to other patients. You don’t get that feeling at all in this office. It was very relaxed and I felt good about going to the dentist.

The staff took me back, answered my questions, filled me in step by step of what would happen. I was concerned about how long it would take. “Is this going to take a year or six months?” They said “no, 100 days”. I was shocked because I did not want to walk around looking snaggle toothed or looking unattractive and as a result, I made arrangements to have the procedure done. We had more than one session as a conference, but when we made up our mind to have the procedure done, I came in one morning. The staff took me back. Theprocedure was done in several hours. Would you believe they fed me? I could eat right after the procedure and by that afternoon by the time I left if you did not know that I had dental work done, if I didn’t tell you, you wouldn’t have known.

I thought it would be a horror story. I thought it would be painful and scary. I’m not going to say I wasn’t nervous; I was, but I kept waiting for that painful visit. when I would go to the dentist and it never happened. When I would go for my checkups, they were very kind, careful, asked me how I felt, any problems. Everything went fine. I must say it went faster and smoother than I had expected and they continue to map my progress. I can call any time I want. I haven’t had any problems really. I’ve been very satisfied with the results that I have. When I tell my friends what I’ve done, they can’t believe it. When I go to work, my office manager, she says “Elizabeth, when are you going to have your permanents?” and I said “They’re in”. She said “That was fast.” Less than three months and I’m done and when I come to the office and I see patients waiting, I’ll say to them “Who is the patient?” and they’ll tell me who it is and I’ll just say “Don’t worry. You’ll be fine.” I try to be encouraging to others that I see waiting in the office.

I would certainly recommend this to anyone. The fact that it was all under one roof was a great relief to me because otherwise I would have to go back and forth from one dentist to the other, one for the implants and one for the prosthetics. The fact that it was all under one roof was such a relief because running back and forth from dentist to dentist would have been very stressful, so I appreciated that. The staff, they all knew my case and worked with me and answered my questions. I’m very pleased.

Prior to having my dental procedure, knowing that my teeth were out of line, notable to eat properly, knowing when I smiled others could see the fact that this side of my mouth was hanging, even though they would never say anything, I knew they were hanging because I had seen the same situation in the mouths of other people. It doesn’t add to your confidence. In fact, it lessens your confidence. It makes you want to smile less. Very self-conscious, even when people would take my pictures, I would get the pictures or video and I would always be self-conscious about that side of my mouth where the teeth were hanging. It was a very uncomfortable situation. It makes you lose your confidence really so you don’t smile as much as you would or as large as you would like to because you think that other people are staring at your smile. Smiles make a very big impression. First impressions last the longest. I like people and I like for people to like me, even though it’s not a matter of looks, but I would like to present the best image that I could and the fact that my smile was not healthy, I didn’t feel as good about myself as I could have. Now I smile big and I enjoy it.

Connie

Connie

Read Connie’s Story

Hi, my name is Connie. I’m from Phoenixville, Pennsylvania and I’d like to tell you about my experience with By Design Dental Implant Center. I originally decided to investigate implants after I had fallen a few years ago and had lost one of my lower teeth and my normal dentist replaced it with an implant and it was so wonderful. It was so much like my normal tooth, I can’t tell which one it even is. So when I found out from my normal dentist that I had some loose teeth that would probably need to be coming out soon and also had infections under old crowns and fillings that I was going to have increasingly serious dental problems in the very near future. I went online and researched dental implant centers in the area and was impressed with the By Design Dental Implant ad plus the fact that they were having a seminar or a presentation in the area very soon, which I attended and learned a lot more about implants. What’s wonderful was aside from getting a tour of their whole facility and their on-site lab, they gave us free 360 degree very detailed x-rays of our own mouth and then went in for a consultation. All of this being free about my particular situation and I was horrified to find out that I had very severe bone loss which I was never aware of. I had in the meantime lost an upper tooth, I had broken another tooth and the infections were discovered by my original dentist, but I had no idea that my bone loss was so severe and increasing. They told us during the presentation that if your bone loss gets to a certain point you’re not even able to have implants anymore. That’s not an option if there’s not enough bone to put the implants in so I was kind of scared and my mother having had a lot of trouble in the 50’s when she had her teeth removed and replaced with dentures, I never wanted that experience because almost died when she had to get dentures and they didn’t fit properly. After evaluating the fact that I still had enough bone to have this procedure, what they recommended to me was having all my upper teeth replaced with implanted teeth and one of my lower molars replaced, which was infected, and aside from that when I was a child I was missing two teeth all my life. My two canines grew in up here which are our vampire teeth so I was always missing two teeth in the front of my mouth and smiling I always had these two big black gaps when I would try to smile so that was aconcern, but it was more the health of the teeth.

Bottom line is I agreed to have the procedure done and last October I had my teeth removed and temporaries built the same day, which was just amazing to me. Recovery was easy, there was no pain. I was mostly out for the extraction and then in a recovery room for a couple of hours while they were making my temporary teeth and these were installed the same day, so I left the same day with teeth that I could actually eat with. That night of my procedure, Dr. Mogyoros called me at home just to check up on me and to make sure that I was okay and healing well. They gave me pain pills, but I never needed them. I got the prescription filled, but I never needed them and they told me with the ice procedure which I faithfully followed and they told me that I would have my temporary teeth for about three months because it takes that long for your gums to heal. This is major surgery so you can’t have your permanent teeth put in until your mouth is actually ready for them and while they’re preparing your permanent teeth. In about January, I got my permanent teeth and it was such an amazing experience because for the first time in my life I had all of my front teeth. I had the two missing ones. I looked like a normal person and I was able to smile really a big smile for the first time in my life and it took me some time to get used to the temporary ones, but I could eat almost anything. I didn’t want to push it or tempt it by eating nuts and things. Once I got permanent teeth implanted in about April and again they were lighter, they were more comfortable than the temporary ones had been, although the temporary ones were fine, and with my permanent ones, again it was a very good feeling, the fact that I could chew and had all my teeth that I could chew with was wonderful. It did take me a little while for them to adjust the fit for me, the tightness. They had me come back if I called them. They had me come back and they worked on that, so it was perfect for my mouth and now as every day goes by, that was in April and it is now August, every day these are feeling more and more comfortable to me. More like my normal and natural teeth and I am just so pleased that I had the procedure done.

I can’t say enough about the people here. The exceptional thing about the people here aside from this amazing office and facility, and they took us on a tour of the offices and the lab and we got to meet all of the staff and the fact that they have an on-site lab was extremely impressive to me. What was also impressive to me aside from the personality of these people, which are amazing, is that several of these staff members have had the same procedures done themselves. I know if they didn’t believe in it, they certainly wouldn’t have it done for their friends and their families. That impressed me. What was amazing about this more than any of the wonderful procedure or tooth replacement is the caring of these people, all of them. Not only the doctors, the gentleman who is in charge of the lab, the x-ray technicians, the dental technicians, the girls in the office staff have been unusually kind and caring people. When you walk in, they treat you like you’re an individual person. They are focused totally on you. They do everything in their power to make sure that you are comfortable, that your questions are answered, that anything they can do to adjust something they do it. They go above and beyond in my opinion, way above and beyond the call of duty. As far as individuals and their integrity and their experience and their expertise, I wish that all of my doctor’s appointments even came close to these people. I can’t say enough about them. How kind, how caring, how supportive and how wonderful they are and I come back twice a year now for cleanings and I just love to come back here and visit because these people call and they check up on you and they don’t treat you like a number, like one of fifty patients running through the office that day. Every single one of them, including all the girls in the office, they just go out of their way to give you the best possible experience you can have. I am so impressed with these people I cannot tell you and I would recommend them, this particular dental center, to anyone contemplating having this procedure done. I am so grateful to all of them.

Hello, my name is Frank and I’m from Jenkintown, Pennsylvania and I’d like to tell you a little about my experience with By Design Dental. I came to the practice to have an All-on-4® procedure done both on the upper and lower jaw. Just a real brief description of the All-on-4® procedure, it’s a full arch of teeth on the upper jaw and the lower jaw supported by four implants on both the upper and lower jaw for a total of eight implants involved.

I came to this point in my dental history if you will because I got to the point where I only had nine of my original teeth left. Six in the front and three in the back and of course it’s pretty hard to eat with a mouth like this. I had been going to the same dentist for forty years, a very kind man who passed away of a sudden illness. I lost the dentist that I had that I trusted and had been going to for years and I had to find another dentist. The problem I have with dentists is I have a terrible, terrible, terrible gag reflex. I mean I can just walk by a dentist’s office and see the shingle outside and I start to gag. It’s that bad so it’s very hard for me to get comfortable with any dentist at all. I found a dentist in the area and I went to him and we came up with a treatment plan that included capping all of these nine teeth and making a partial denture for the lower jaw and six implants in the top for a fixed bridge. The amount of time that that would have involved in a dental chair just scared the heck out of me. I mean you have the temporary caps, you have the full caps, you have impressions, you have the implants. I figured I’d be at the dentist for a year to a year and a half gagging all the way. I did a little research on the internet and I came across this procedure called the All-on-4® and it sounded like just the thing that would be good for me. There are a few dentists in the area that I’m sure would have done a fine job, but they were big practices and I feel like I would have just been a number and not gotten the individual attention.

By luck, I was reading the paper one night and I saw an ad for By Design Dental Implant Center in King of Prussia. I went on the site and I really keyed in on the Surgeon, Dr. Mogyoros and I was very, very impressed with his experience and his credentials so I made an appointment to come out to see him. We did the CT Scan, which of course they have all this equipment in their modern office and he said that I definitely was a candidate for the All-on-4®. I then met everyone else in the office and let me tell you I have never ever been in a dental office like this before. It really was like walking into your living room. Everybody was so friendly and they have their own dental lab right here on site. They have a Prosthodontist who is a restorative dentist who makes the teeth and all of these people are involved in the crafting of the treatment plan. It’s not just the Oral Surgeon looking to say “I’m going to put the implants in here” and then a restorative dentist coming in and going “I don’t like that. I wish he would have put them here.” They all actually come up with a “Plan A” and a “Plan B” when they’re putting your treatment together and then as the procedure goes on, they may have to change things, but it’s very important that these people are involved. Even the lab person who makes the teeth is involved, which is also very important.

On January 29 I came out with my wife to the office and I remember sitting in my car listening to Satellite radio and my whole life was flashing before me. I was that scared to walk in and get in that chair. I sat down in the chair and as soon as Dr. Mogyoros came in, I felt a lot more comfortable. They started the IV sedation, which is by the way the only way they could have done the procedure on me. Just remember now, they’re taking out nine teeth, extracting nine teeth and three of them were molars and that’s usually just enough for one day and then they’ve got to put in eight implants on top of it and then they’re going to make the teeth that go on these implants so I’m going to leave that night with an upper and lower and I’m going to be able to eat pretty well. They started the IV and really I can’t tell you what the procedure was like because I was out of it. I have no idea. I just know that I came to and I was looking at the clock across the way, which is ironic. It was on the Capital Grill which is a steakhouse known for their wonderful steaks. I’m thinking I’m going to be able to eat steaks again. I couldn’t for years because of the way my teeth were. I still can’t believe they were able to do this without me knowing what was going on. In fact, Dr. Mogyoros stopped about half way through and came out and gave my wife a reading on how I was doing. He said “Oh he’s doing fine. He’s tapping his fingers to the music and he’s laughing at some of the conversations we’re having.” I don’t remember any of that. That’s what conscious sedation does. They say it’s kind of like amnesia. You’re kind of awake so you can cooperate with the doctor doing the procedure, but you don’t remember anything afterwards. I just can’t believe how good I felt. The rest of the day was spent making my temporary teeth and making sure I was comfortable with them. I had smoothies to drink. I had plenty of ice. Anytime I looked the least bit uncomfortable, they were like “can I do this for you? Can I get that?”. I was like “I’ll be fine, I’ll be fine.” About 7:00 at night I was finished and I came out. No pain at all. Everything felt fine. Every one of those people, Dr. Thaler, Rand the fellow who makes the teeth, Jamie, they were all still here and it was like 7:00 at night. When you are here, you are their main focus. You are the reason they exist almost. It’s not a 9-4 job for these people. They really take their work seriously.

The next day I came out here for the post-op and it was like I’m retired. I’ve been retired for eight years but if I were still working I could have gone to work. No pain. I had a little bit of swelling and bruising on one side because I didn’t keep the ice on as much as I should have. That night I went home and I had some soup and some bread and it wasn’t that long afterwards that I was eating fish, chicken and ground beef. The diet was no problem at all. As far as pain goes, they gave me a prescription for pain medication. I had it filled because I thought I’m really going to need this the next day. I didn’t even touch them. I took a little regular strength Tylenol for about 24 hours and that was it.

It probably was a couple of months, in fact it was in July when I finally got the final set of teeth and the final set of teeth are supported by a titanium bar which they send out to have milled and that gives the teeth a lot more strength and you actually get two more teeth, two on the upper and two on the lower so you have twelve teeth on the bottom and twelve on the top. I still worked out. I’m retired and I was bench pressing and I guess the last one I was trying to get that last rep in and I felt this thing in my mouth and I thought “That feels like a tooth.” These are temporary teeth and they came out and I’m thinking “what’s going on here?” It was a Friday and I’ve been without front teeth before so I thought “no problem”. I called the office and I told Rita what had happened and she said “You have to come out here right away. We’ll bring Dr. Thaler in and put that tooth back in.” I told her “Rita, it’s Friday. It can wait. I don’t want to bring the poor doctor out.” He came out and within half an hour I had that tooth put back in. This is just the kind of people they are. They can’t do enough for you. I tell that story just to get a flavor of what happens.

The final teeth, it probably took them an extra month longer than usual because the titanium bar when it came back wasn’t perfect. Believe me, these people are perfectionists so they sent it back twice, which is no problem because I was doing fine with my temporary teeth. I was eating and they just as well could have been the permanent teeth. July 17 I came back and it was the day I had been waiting for. They installed the final teeth with the titanium bar and everything has been absolutely fantastic since then. I can eat anything I want. I can eat a bagel again. I can bite into a big hoagie. I can eat a big steak and hopefully this is the end of my dental hell. I come out now twice a year for a cleaning. Actually I never thought I’d enjoy going to the dentist, but I do because I come back for my cleaning and I get to see these wonderful people out here.

If I had to do it over again I would definitely do this again and I would definitely do it again at By Design Dental. These are the nicest people in the world and I really do consider them a part of my family. As a matter of fact, my son just got married two weeks ago and I brought the wedding pictures out to share with everyone and they really seemed happy to see them. That’s my story and I’ll make this offer. Anyone who happens to see this video, you can get in touch with the people at By Design Dental and I will talk to them anytime and answer any questions they have about this procedure. That’s how sold I am on these people at By Design Dental.

I’m a big meat and potatoes kind of guy. My big emphasis was “I can eat again.” Obviously I think they did a fine job with my teeth, but I was just so relieved that I found somebody that could take care of my dental problems basically in one day without all the emotions and gagging and everything and now hopefully I’m set for life. I won’t have to worry about anything like root canals or anything like that. You just go for a cleaning and that’s it. The other thing, my wife and I are retired and we like to travel and with caps on your front teeth that are always breaking, I never knew what kind of shape I would be in. On one of these trips I might not be able to eat. I might have no teeth in the front. I never knew, but now I’m pretty confident. Since I’ve had these permanent teeth, I haven’t had one problem at all. I have had people ask me and they just didn’t seem to get it. They’re not false teeth, they’re actually screwed in and they don’t come out. At night I just brush my teeth like normal and use floss and so I asked them out here the day I got my final teeth give me some pictures. This is all extra and they took some pictures of me with the teeth in and without the teeth. They took some pictures of the actual implants hanging in there. I got some pictures of the temporary teeth and then the ones with the titanium bar and I actually got a picture of my CT Scan before and after and they put this together in like a little story book for me. Again, this is the kind of people they are. If you ask them for something like that, they’ll do it. I actually have this at home on my computer now so I’ve had people come in and I’ll say “Let me just show you what this is all about” and it works well.

This is obviously something you wouldn’t do if you have only one or two teeth missing. Can you imagine me with the gag reflex I have with dentures with that palate piece in the back? I just couldn’t even imagine that. These actually feel like my real teeth and if I didn’t know any better I would think they were my real teeth. I think it’s a great procedure, but even more than that having it done at a place like this where you’re just totally comfortable and the people are extremely confident.

Please go on there and look at their credentials and look at the bios. These people have many, many years of experience and I feel that they’re the best people to do work like this.

Hi, I’m Arlene and I’m here to tell you what a wonderful choice I made by having implants done By Design. A friend recommended that I go see them because I was having so many problems with my removable bridge and I am so happy that I did that.

When I came here everyone was so gracious. The procedure was incredibly easy. I came in with three teeth that were missing and left with three implants that felt like my teeth. It’s been a wonderful experience. I am so glad that I don’t have the removable bridge to clean and not enjoy my food. Now it’s magic. It’s just wonderful. I feel younger.

I have to say that By Design made it so easy for me. I didn’t have any pain after the implants. The next day there was almost no tenderness and in the next day or two it was like I had never had any procedure done. It was just so easy. Dr. Mogyoros was absolutely fantastic. He was so kind and so caring. He constantly asked me if I felt anything. He made sure there was absolutely no pain. He was very, very gentle and now I just walk out and I don’t have to worry about a bridge, which has made my life so much easier.
